We’ve heard from many of you that you want to increase your impact but are not sure how.
The research suggests that the key to influencing others is building relationships. Many of us have remained in our echo-chambers. We understand that it can be cozy in there! But to increase the impact of this movement, we must reach out within and outside our networks, and in particular to our friends and contacts with red and purple viewpoints.
1. Try to understand the perspectives of those on the left, center and the right by reading all sides.com. It is an amazing resource!
2. Forward this week’s actions to three friends in your immediate circle. You can say something like this:
“I’ve been staying politically active and engaged using wall-of-us.org. I feel like I am doing something useful when I do the 4 actions they send me per week. You can subscribe at: wall-of-us.org/subscribe.”
3. Think about three contacts who are not in your immediate circle (and if you live in a blue area, that live in red and purple areas). This includes people you grew up with, work with, and volunteer with. Write a note to them telling them to check us out, or just check in with them.
Let us know how it goes. If you shared wall-of-us how did it go? If you didn’t, what stopped you? Email us at email@example.com.
